Together, American Red Cross Volunteers:
 Assist victims of hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, floods, winter storms, and other disasters, including families forced from their homes by fire.- Provide Community Disaster Education and first aid, CPR, swimming, babysitter preparedness, and other classes.
- Translate for non-English speakers so that they can receive Red Cross services.
- Work as nurses offering expertise, care and compassion.
- Facilitate emergency communications between military personnel and their families.
- Organize and participate in Red Cross Youth Clubs and Junior Disaster Action Teams.
- Donate professional expertise in accounting, finance, public relations, website development, administration, and information technology.
- Help trace victims of war and disaster and reunite families of the Holocaust.
- Fill leadership roles at local offices, including on task forces and board of directors.
